1.Nikon Coolpix B500 16mp 40x Optical Zoom Digital Camera 32GB Bundle

I bought this camera for two main reasons. First and most importantly, I wanted a camera that used AA batteries instead of lithium rechargeable batteries. I have owned a few lithium battery cameras and have always been frustrated by their relatively short battery life (before needing recharging) and the cost of replacement or additional batteries. I can buy good quality AA batteries anywhere for a reasonable cost – no need to be looking for a place to recharge. Secondly, I wanted a camera that had a pretty good zoom capability and the Nikon B500 does that quite well. I am very happy with this camera. I wish camera manufacturers would make more cameras that used AA batteries – or at least had the ability to use AA batteries instead of lithium rechargeable. 

2.Canon PowerShot Digital Camera SX620 HS

It was shipped early and arrived two days late thanks to FedEx. I decided to order this as a backup camera for an event I have been asked to shoot for a friend, and I needed a few days to learn to use this one, but FedEx strikes again. Anyway, the reason I am giving this 3 stars is because it’s just OK quality for the price. I was hoping there was an actual manual mode on here like the old Canon point and shoot model I used to have, but it’s mainly preprogrammed scene shots. There is a program mode where you can set the ISO and white balance, but you can’t adjust the shutter or aperture and I was really hoping to be able to set those. It’s also slow to focus, and my continuous shots came out blurry. I only have one day to play with it, so I am hoping this will work for what I need. It also didn’t come with a user’s guide, so I had to download one. If I can get some quality shots from it, I will update, but if not, I may send it back and shop for one in person where I can get a good look at the features. 

3.Canon SX70 PowerShot HS Digital Camera

In addition to this new Powershot SX70, I’m also an owner of a Nikon P900 purchased in 2015, and a Canon SX730HS purchased in 2017. I love both of my older cameras, but the SX70 is my new favorite. It gives me beautiful colors, and higher MP and nearly as much zoom as the Nikon P900. The Canon SX730HS is higher MP than my Nikon, and is also lighter weight, making it so much easier to hike with. Love the truer colors that I get with that, but my zoom on the P900 has often been needed to capture photos of large animals from a safe & respectful distance. I’ve missed a few shots with the smaller zoom of the SX730HS, and that was tough to swallow. Enter the Powershot SX70, and I feel like I have the best of both worlds. This lightweight bridge camera has EVF, which is important for me to help stabilize the camera; the little SX730HS doesn’t have an EVF. The SX70 also has a fully articulating screen like the P900. The image stabilization of the Canon Powershot SX70 HS is great, as is the stils frame rate of 10 fps. I’ve barely begun to learn about this new camera’s capabilities, and looking forward to learning more. I’ve gotten alot of shots I’m really pleased with, using this new addition to my hobbyist photography. 

4.Nikon Coolpix P7100 Digital Camera w/ 7.1x Zoom

I need a camera that can focus really closely and light with flash at close range too (jewellery, mineral specimens, small parts). Not many point and shoots will do this, and in fact Nikon’s successors to this camera are woeful in comparison. I also use the camera for journalistic people/place shots. This camera handles all kinds of light very well in fully auto, but retains fully manual operations for artistic experimentation for your speed/light/depth of field preferences. I’ve been a serious amateur F4, F5 owner and I am super impressed with the power this packs in a small, convenient case. Controls are intuitive as you’d expect from a Nikon. I could go on I purchased this one simply as a spare in case the one I use very day breaks! Grab a good used one and enjoy! Fantastic for lightweight needs when travelling. Zoom is pretty good too.

I bought this product two weeks ago and im already loving‘ it! It wasn’t hard to start it and for those that want to use a operation manual, its also very good explained since i used it too (just to make sure im doing everything right). The picture quality is actually good, just like every other camera. The sound quality could definitely be better for me. Of course it is a little heavy and you’re kinda scared holding it because everytime anxiety kicks in and you think you just dropped it, but it could be more heavier and i myself though it would be way more heavier but its really weightless so you can take it anywhere with you. Just one thing: you can’t change the language from the camera. I honestly don’t know if every camera is like this but on this one you can’t (or i just haven’t found out how). For me this is good for this price and im very happy about it. 

6.Canon – PowerShot G3 x Digital Camera

Any review should always be taken with a grain of salt, keeping in mind, what some people consider important, others will not. Also a 5 star rating would mean that this product is perfect and there was nothing wrong with it. Truthfully, I have not tried every feature available on the GX3, but, thus far, I have been quite pleased with the quality of the photos and video taken. The autofocus for photographs work extremely well in bright light and I have not had any difficulties in low light. I have taken time lapse as well a night shots, and I am quite pleased with the results. I have shot 1080p at 30 fps with the auto settings as well as manual settings in bight light as well as low light. The autofocus worked well for both settings; however, the autofocus does struggle when the lens is extended to it’s full range (600 mm), keeping in mind that I was shooting surfers without a tripod. It would be reasonable to expect that shooting anything, fast moving and over 200 mm, you should be using a tripod anyways to steady the shot. The range and quality of the 24-600 mm is amazing for the price as well as an aperture of f/2.8 to 5.6. Mirrorless cameras with interchangeable lenses, although more features, not always better quality, are overrated. The lenses amount to thousands of dollars and are not that fast. I like that the GX3 is weather sealed, which makes for an ideal travel camera .. quality + versatility + portability + price. I am accustomed to having a view finder, and there are instances where it would definitely have been an asset; however, having a built-in viewfinder for Canon would mean that the size of the body would get bigger, moving towards SLR size or M5 size. Instead of carrying a camera and a video camera, I am just using the GX3. Overall, I am quite satisfied with quality, features, and portability. 

7.Canon PowerShot S100 Black Digital Camera

This is a great camera for general vacation use and walking around. In a pinch, you can get really good artistic photos, too. It has a lot of capabilities for adjusting settings, including Tv, Av, and full Manual mode, and it will record a RAW image if you select it. The sensor is a little bit larger than those on most similar-sized cameras. The camera is also heavier and obviously a high-quality product. The shell is metal. The buttons and dials all have nice feel to them. I have the S100 in my pocket on our vacations, and on general walks. It only has 5X optical zoom, but that’s usually enough for snapshots and general use, but it wouldn’t be a good camera for taking photos of birds or wildlife that is far away. I’ll often stop to take a close-up of a flower or something, and it works great for that with a macro mode. It has a built-in pop-up flash that is covered unless it pops up, and it does a great job for fill-in flash of a person against a bright background. The S110 that replaced it is very similar but has a touch screen and Wi-Fi, if that is important. To me they are about the same. 

8.Canon PowerShot G15 Digital Camera

If you’re like me and have used previous models of the Powershot G lineup – you’ll know G11 and G12 were both bulky, heavy, and took a long time to start up. This camera fixes all that – it’s lighter, smaller – fits into any pocket without pulling your pants down – and can start taking pictures almost instantly after being powered on, and series shooting is fast! Screen is large again too, they’ve done away with the small pivoting one. But there are regressions too. Image quality is worse than that of G12 – colours are slightly more dim, and if you review images on PC at 1:1 zoom, you can see artefacts – didn’t happen on G12, you could zoom all the way in and picture was still clear. The dials on the top have changed – gone is the ISO regulator. Dials still do turn as you pull the camera from your pocket, so get a habit to check the shooting mode is right and exposure compensation is on 0 before you start shooting. Some modes are gone – such as foliage and landscape, and most importantly, low light. What’s added to replace it is HDR – a worthy addition but I wish they kept the low light, as now I have to use AV mode for these situations. The final bad bad thing is a dedicated video record button. You must use it to record video – the shutter button on top only takes photos now. Ifailed to record several scenes because I was habitually using the shutter button to start and stop – and all I got was two photos instead of each video. So I am in mixed feelings about this camera. It is small and light and with a big screen, just like the old good G7 and G9, but the image quality is only good until you start to zoom in, the easy shooting modes are gone and you can’t record video using a shutter button. My suggestion – it you prefer small and light over big, bulky and want good picture quality – get the G16, it’s same as G15 plus the Wi-Fi! 

9.Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX500 18.2 Megapixel Compact Camera – White

I chose this camera because the cost. (I can’t believe how expensive pocket cameras have gotten, especially with the problems I’m seeing in the comments for them.) Here are some of my likes and dislikes: Like: * decent price for the product * it can zoom in and out * it’s lightweight; I can operate it with one hand * the video option will maintain focus even when the subject changes distance Dislike: * the flash is in the same place as my fingers when I’m holding the camera, so I have to remember to reposition how I’m holding the camera if I want to take a flash photo * the camera defaults to overexposure, so I have to manually reset it every time I use it * you have to press a different button to start – and stop – the video function * the focal distance for macro is about 2 inches, which isn’t as good as I’ve had in other pocket cameras; it’s not good for close-up insect photography * low light images and zoomed in images look pixelated when enlarged

On June 23, I took self portraits of myself with a Cannon ixus 185 point and shoot digital camera on a tripod set to a 10 second timer, I wasn’t very far away, but very close either but I ended up with a distorted somewhat fat face and a double chin which I don’t have in person, in the mirror or even in inexpensive camera phones even though I have gotten the wide angle lens distortion if the camera was too close to my face but you can’t really tell how close it is and sometimes you get lucky and get really good results. Do you have any suggestions on how to avoid this problem? And I can’t tell if I’m far away enough. And back in November 2019 when I first got this camera, my father just using the auto feature took a picture of me from a medium distance and my face was somewhat stretched from side to side like a wide angle lens camera phone, and I had the double chin, and I thought that’s really strange why is this new camera doing this? I had never used it myself until now, and I hadn’t looked at that picture for several years and I remembered that it wasn’t good but I forgot it was that bad. I just tried to do test shots on zoom and portrait mode from a good distance and I still got the same distorted fat face with a double chin. I only got one good serious expression headshot portrait a few days ago but it had a yellowish bright tone over exposed look to it so it looks better in black and white but I was able to somewhat correct this on the color picture with a site that I can’t remember the name of right now. I also took pictures with this camera of my self portraits taken with two different brands of cheap camera phones where I don’t have a fat face or double chin to see if this camera would cause it in these other pictures but strangely it didn’t at all! It’s only when I’m taking pictures of my face live directly ( or my father taking the picture of me) does this happen can you please explain this? The camera took a nice clear un distorted picture of my bedroom lamp, but people’s face portraits it’s poor.
