I made not only the mistake of purchasing this without an extended warranty from Best Buy (or else I would’ve returned it after 30 days for my money back to save me the headache) but entrusting the actually MANUFACTURER to address any of the issues I was facing with my product. Considering I had issues with this BRAND NEW 3D Printer out of the box and tried seeking solutions for those issues that including printing errors, wifi connectivity problems, and so on. When I had reached out to the manufacturer themselves, instead of honoring the 90-day warranty that came with the device, they told me if I wanted to send it out I would have to pay for postage. (roundtrip style. to them and back to myself).

I will list the issues I had myself with this product and the cons to this particular 3D printer listed here that I hope you keep in mind especially if you want the most of your hobby and expenses to consider something else more beginner-friendly.

Issues with the 3D printer
– Wifi Connectivity Issues
-Extruder Module (what melts the filament and essentially prints the models) had issues properly heating up causing it to clog up
– 3D printer filament not being Detected
– Constant leveling Issues when printing (keep in mind I never printed more than 3 successful prints that were small considering the limited space and capabilities of this printer)

Cons/consider buying another 3D printer
– This particular model and brand is known for using spools with encrypted chips so you can ONLY PRINT if you buy their filament (This is a huge downfall considering how expensive their spools are on their site and this particular model can hold more than 600 kg)
-Manufacturer/Customer Service is a joke. They will only respond to messages through a chat log and will not call to help troubleshoot any issues or concerns.
-Manufacturer/Customer Serivce will not acknowledge a 90-day warranty included with their products even if proof is shown that it was included with the purchase. 

4.Flashforge Creator Max Dual Extruder 3D Printer

Bad:

Not a precision you would expect for the money, my friends half price printers have better results.

Documentation and manuals are almost not existing for this model, need to use other model instructions.

Table need constant leveling realignment after prints get hard to remove.

No removable table plate just stickers.

Nozzle needed height adjustment, left way lower than right.

Very Noisy.

Good:

Workhorse.

Heated table, helps removing parts, but takes time to cool down.

Easy software, but needs to dig deep in to it for useful features. 

5.Creality Ender 5 Plus 3D Printer

To be fair, I’m not a novice, I’ve been printing for 6 years and have run everything from enders to anycubic and everything in between. I was looking for a new large format FDM printer and settled on this one. Picked it up and even out of the box the red flags started showing themselves. Both Z axis screws were bent and the grinding and squealing noise they made should have stopped me in my tracks. Once fully assembled and leveled I decided to really try and make this work. I greased the screws thoroughly but this eventually proved useless. Leveling the bed wasn’t terrible aside from the noise. The Z offset is easy to manage and the aux and auto leveling works quite well. That’s about all I have to say that’s nice about it. I changed the bowden tube to Capricorn tube and ensured it was contacting the back of the extruder at operating temperature. The extruder motor is where the issues really made manifest. It constantly leaked from the nozzle even when retracted. This told me there was a gap between the extruder and tube. Cooled down and cold pulled, and no tell tale blob indicating a gap. Reassembled and still oozing. I found there’s no reliable way to calibrate the extruder like on other creality machines via the estep formulas. The excessive oozing caused filament to pool around the tip and every attempt to print, with rafts, skirts, brims, anything lead to every single print detaching when the excess filament oozed, cooled and snagged on the object. I found absolutely no way to combat this, even reports that it’s normal, and while yes I have this behavior with other machines, it’s no where near as bad as this was. I had the printer for a grand total of 24 hours before giving up and returning it. I know these things are hit and miss out of the box, some work flawlessly, others will be nothing but problematic forever. I don’t have the time to fuss over this, especially considering the pricetag. I really feel like it could be a good machine and I just got a lemon, not the first one I’ve gotten from creality. They have some serious quality issues and until they’re really addressed I’ll be avoiding another ender or creality product for the foreseeable future.

For my first 3D printer, I am very impressed. I wasn’t expecting anything crazy for the price, but I ended up getting a great machine for an amazing price. All of the work I’ve made so far has turned out great and I’ve logged right under 200 hours on the machine so far without any issues.

Die Kalibrierung sit einfach: im Menu ber den Touchscreen die Option LEveling aufrufen und den Anwisungen folgen (3 Schrauben verstellen bis es piept). Ich muss allerdings immemr ne halbe Drehung weiter machen. Kann man natrlich mit leben, wenn man es wei 😉 Als nchstes fiehl mir auf,d ass bei einem gedruckten Quadrat oder hnlichen Formen immer Parallelogramme mit nicht genau 90 Winkeln herauskam. DIe Hotline (deutsch) war hilfsbereit und legte erneute Kalibrierung nahe. Des Rtsels Lsung war aber eine andere: Der SChlitten mit dem Extruder wird per Zahnriehmen bewegt. bei mir auf der Rechten Seite musste der Schlitten um 3-4 mm verschoben werden. Hierzu kann man vorsichtig den Riehmen aus dem Schitten ziehen, den Schlitten verschieben und den Riehmen wieder einfhren. Danach alles perfekt. das Druckbild ist Super, die Software ksotenlos. Ich nutze nun allerdings Simplify3D, da mir dort die Einstellmglichkeiten sowie die Support-Generierung deutlich besser gefallen. Ich kann empfehlen, statt Krebestifte oder groe Raftings eher auf “Malerklebeband” zu setzen (sog. Bluetape). Die Drucke halten darauf Bombe und man vebraucht weniger Material (Rafting rbaucht man nicht). Ich habe meine Objekte immer 1mm ber Grund und unterfttere dann mit Support.

Took a long time for me to decide on buying a 3d printer, spending time looking at reviews and trying to understand which printer and process would suit my needs. I finally settled on the Creality Ender 3 S1, this is one of the newest Creality printers and being a novice I thought that it gave me a lot of typical upgrades that people usually fit to the other Creality printer I was considering which was the ender 3 V2 but would be unsure of how to safely upgrade it myself the Ender 3 S1 seemed the best choice available. I looked around at prices and delivery times and the obvious choice was Technology Outlet, they had a money off code which was a bonus but with such fast delivery it was a no brainer. Ordering was simple and the printer was delivered quickly and safely. Big thanks to Technology Outlet. Unbox and build took me under an hour, simple to do and with the auto bed levelling with a little a axis adjustment I was printing my first test piece, the Bunny! I was mesmerised watching this machine create this little bunny from a machine I had no experience with and after 40 minutes a bunny was born, perfect. The build quality of the printer feels first rate, controls easy to use and after I added the Creality WiFi box I was printing Vases and Dragons with great success. I have also designed my own models in Tinkercad and imported into Creality Cloud and printed them with no issues. One downside I have found is that the print bed seems to be deteriorating faster than I expected and direct replacements of the bed that comes with the Ender 3 S1 cannot be found. It is a real shame that the printer did not come with the Sprite Pro extruder with is all metal but with only the standard Sprite which is only really safe up to 240 DegC which in my opinion lets the machine down. Another issue is the spool holder, it allows the spool to drift and on occasions causes the filament to jam at the side of the spool. Even though I have found a few issues and let downs on the supplied extruder the Ender 3 S1 is a superb printer and one I would definitely recommend for a first 3D printer.

spent a lot of time researching and following and listening to several u tubers I choose the MakerBot brand. If I had a place to set up in a non- living space or vent to outside I may have gone with a heated bed in order to use ABS, however, PLA has worked well for my needs. Build platform is removable and so far large enough (get the biggest you can afford). The control panel/menu options are easy to follow.one con is it is quite loud you hear a lot of motor and squealing noises during the print process. easy to pause print cycle and change filament color and restart the project. Printer frame is solid and unaffected by the moving print head. The light has a blue hue and is hard to see the progress at times and identify a failing print process. I did have to update the firmware. I have the printer connected via USB cable so I can’t comment on the wireless feature.
some prints have taken 9 hours or more and have run back to back print cycles I did have to remove the filament and reinstall because the head lost its grip never was able to identify the reason.
Happy with my selection, I would do it again.
